There’s all kinds of exciting stuff going on here.  First of all, we just celebrated our 3rd(!) birthday at 61 Local (a fantastic local bar) with a bunch of good friends and extended family. Also, we’re looking at new production spaces in which to build the kitchen of our dreams. But mostly – really what makes us so very happy right this minute – is that we finally have time to work on all those great ideas we’ve been squirreling away all this time. (SO many great ideas.) As a result, you’ll find a (very) limited amount of some delectable new treats at the markets and online this weekend!

AT THE MARKETS (Smorgasburg Sat. June 16, 11a-6p; New Amsterdam Market Sun. June 17, 11a-4p)

Oatmeal Raisin Caramels – soft cinnamon-flecked caramel studded with plump raisins and housemade crunchy granola bits.  Just like the cookie, only gooier. (“Gooier” is totally a word.)

Apricot Chile Caramels – with bits of tangy dried apricot, red chile flakes, and a touch of Tremblay Apiaries honey. Feel the burn!

Sweet Potato Caramels – pure sweet potato purée and a touch of freshly ground pepper.  You’ll swear it’s Thanksgiving already.

MapleComb Candy – yup, you guessed it!  Just like our crispy-crunchy Honeycomb candy; but with delicious pure maple syrup in place of honey.  You gotta try it to believe it.   Come by this weekend to be the first to try them out and let us know what you think!  We won’t actually be full-on producing them for a while, so act fast…

Finally, at the risk of sounding like a broken record: guys, we REALLY need your help for this $250,000 grant.  There’s no guarantee that we’ll get the grant; but if we don’t get another 79 votes by the end of the month, our application doesn’t even get looked at.  Here’s the voting process:

1) go to the Mission: Small Business website.

2) Click Login. (no need to create an account; it uses Facebook.)

3) type in “Liddabit” and hit Search.

4) click the Vote button.

That’s it!  You’re done!  What’s great about this campaign is that you get to vote for as many businesses as you want; and we have a lot of friends in the running who should get a fair shot at this too. So if you have a couple minutes, check out P&H Soda, Brooklyn Flea, Madecasse, and Cut Brooklyn too.

Thank you thank you thank you – and we’ll see you at the markets!
