New Year, More Blog
Happy New Year, everyone! (I know, I know; I’m probably the last person to wish you a Happy New Year. Well, I wish it for you anyway. So there. YOU TAKE IT AND YOU LIKE IT.) It’s been a long, long while since I updated the ol’ blog; but, in our defense, we had a busy-ass 2013! Jen got married; we got an award from the ICC at Carnegie Hall; our book was a finalist for an IACP award (and we went to San Francisco for the ceremony); we had to move to a new temporary kitchen space; we opened a store in Chelsea Market; and all kinds of other stuff too complicated to get into now.*
But! I miss writing, and we want to be better about keeping everyone up to speed on all the cool stuff that goes on here at Liddabit HQ; so we’re bringing it back as a regular feature.
Lots of times when Jen and I go to events, or work at the store, or otherwise meet new people (which we don’t get to do as much as we used to) and interact with y’all, we get asked tons of questions about the business. How did it start? What was it like? Where did you start cooking? How do you come up with new products? What was it like opening the store? What’s a typical day for you? And so on.
Well, this is all stuff we (okay, I) LOVE talking about, and I want to share all of it with you. There’s a huge project we’ve been working on for a long, long time that I hope to have some good news about next week; so after it’s all said and done I can’t wait to write about it. Until then, feel free to email me with questions, ideas, anything: liz (at) liddabitsweets (dot) com. Of course, I can’t guarantee I’ll write about every suggestion – for example, if you want me to write a sonnet about your cat** – but this blog is for YOU, and I want to write about stuff that YOU’RE interested in.
So, please get in touch! And again, a very happy new year from all of us. I’m excited to be more connected to you all this year, and we have several truckloads of fun, exciting stuff in store for 2014.
Liz and the Liddabit crew*Don’t worry – I will later! BLOG! **I mean, I could do that, but I don’t even know your cat. What’s her name? Is she a fun, playful kitty or a lazy one? What are her thoughts on the Christie bridge scandal? you see the difficulties.
