Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig
I was taken to task recently by the PR folks at our publisher, Workman, for letting the blog lie fallow for so long. I was told it would put people off to see that we weren’t updating it regularly; that it made us look like we didn’t care; that we were doing ourselves a disservice by not having something on our site to engage our visitors. Aaaaaand they were pretty much right. (They’re professionals. They know what they’re doing.)
But hey, don’t worry that we’re beating ourselves up about it or anything. I mean, we have been spending most of that time
relaxing on the company yacht in the Caribbean writing a cookbook and taking a cheese tour through continental Europe trying to raise funds to build out our own kitchen space; so it’s been time well spent. But now we’ve got some new team members to help us in the kitchen and a book coming out in October to promote, and we’ll be goldarned if we let the blog sit around so long again. Just you wait and see!
Ahem. In the meantime, we have all kinds of fun stuff going on: THE BOOK, which is available for pre-order on Amazon (as well as Barnes & Noble, Indiebound, and Powell’s - OH, THE OPTIONS!); the markets, namely Smorgasburg and New Amsterdam (both of which we are at this weekend); a campaign to qualify for a $250,000 grant (please vote for us!); and a party (tonight, 7pm, at 61 Local – any and all are welcome).
That’s about it for now – I’ll be adding new posts on Friday afternoons from here on out, with our locations and any specials for the weekend, other news, and random stuff I find entertaining. To that end, here is 10 minutes of Polka-dot Afro Circus!
Thanks, and see you Friday!
