| Where does the name come from? | |
| Originally, founder Liz Gutman’s brother Dan, being unable as a young child to pronounce “Elizabeth,” called her Liddabit. She decided to give the name to a fictional restaurant dreamed up for a pastry school project, and we liked the name and logo so much that we kept them! After all — when the candy is this good, you don’t need a whole lot…just a Liddabit.

| What makes your products different? |
|
| A lot! (not that we’re tooting our own horn or anything…)
First of all, our ingredients keep us ahead of the pack. We work together with some of the most passionate, talented and generous food producers in the Brooklyn/New York/Tri-State food community today. Ronnybrook dairy, Brooklyn Brewery, Martin’s Handmade Pretzels, Salvatore Bklyn, Tremblay Apiaries Honey, and Taza Chocolate all create unbelievably fresh and tasty products that are integral our sweets. And when we can’t go local, we do organic as often as possible. Add to that our dedication to scouring the local greenmarkets several times a week to find the best, freshest fruit — and veggies! and herbs! and popcorn! — available, and you have two people who are way too obsessed with the quality of their ingredients. (Luckily you get to reap the benefits!) We’re also incredibly proud to be a part of the Brooklyn artisanal food community. Since we make, finish, and package everything by hand, each batch is different and totally special. It’s a lot of work, but it’s why we do what we do! Every single piece of candy that we bring to you has been worked on by pots and pans, human hands, and everyday kitchen utensils — that’s it. Finally, our packaging sets us apart. We strive for minimal amounts of packaging for all our products — so we print our labels ourselves. Aside from that, all of our cello bags are 100% biodegradable and compostable; and the kraft paper labels, boxes and bags we use are recycled and recyclable. | How long does your stuff keep? | |
| We encourage everybody to enjoy our sweets as soon as possible after their purchase – we use absolutely no preservatives, so the sooner, the tastier! If you’re traveling or buying a gift ahead of time, bars will be good to go for up to 3 weeks; caramels will last you at least 6 weeks. We recommend refrigerating in an airtight container/bag for storage, and allowing everything to come to room temperature before you eat it (it doesn’t taste as good cold!)

| I have allergies to wheat/nuts. Can I eat your candy? | |
| We list all our ingredients on the product pages in our online store. Though only some of our candies actually contain wheat or nuts, do keep in mind that everything we produce is handmade in small batches, in a small space! If you have a severe allergy to wheat or nuts, it’s best that you steer clear of our products.
