Ah, autumn. Time of crisp, gorgeous weather; juicy, flavorful apples at the greenmarket; greatly increased frequency of Mr. Autumn Man sightings; and, of course, a grotesque cavalcade of “seasonally”-flavored treats available at a drugstore/coffee shop/bodega near you.
One thing you should know about me is that I have a soft spot in my heart for terrible junk food. I don’t buy that much junk food as a rule (that ish is expensive!), but I always take note when I see or hear about new, weird flavors of candy or chips.
Happy New Year, everyone! (I know, I know; I’m probably the last person to wish you a Happy New Year. Well, I wish it for you anyway. So there. YOU TAKE IT AND YOU LIKE IT.) It’s been a long, long while since I updated the ol’ blog; but, in our defense, we had a busy-ass 2013!
I have always been fascinated with wedding cakes, which is odd since I’m not really a “bride” sorta gal. But I do really, really love wedding cakes. As it happens, I am getting married in the fall; and, alas, my fiancé Jonathan doesn’t really like cake (which has turned out to be a blessing because I can choose which flavor the wedding cake will be!). But it made me a little sad, not having something he really loved on the dessert table…
